I own a comic book shop. I’ve had a lot of distress with theft recently, so I’ve chose to change my merchandise showing practices a bit. I want to link up a number of computers so that customers can browse a database which tells them which items are in stock and what they cost. Then, when they choose on the items they want to buy, we’ll pull them from the store room for them. This is the same setup you can find at huge book-selling chains like Borders or Barnes & Noble.

So, where can I find a program that allows me to customize a database that lists all of my available inventory on a network of computers and makes adjustments every time an item is sold or added to the inventory?
