Telemarketers call me at work with a recorded message. Can I put them on the “no call list”?

I would add the number to the no call list.
I also learned another handy trick to use on those prerecorded calls– as soon as you pick up, hit the # button repeatedly. It makes the computer on the other end believe that it is dialing another computer, and removes your number from their auto call list.
It is not your business to place your work phone on the do-not-call list because the phone line doesn’t belong to you. I would simply tell IT and your boss about the problem and let them take care of it.
IT and your boss will probably either place your number on the do-not-call lists (remember, there may be a state list as well as a federal one, depending on your location) or they will tell you to do it yourself. Either way, you need to get their permission.
Keep in mind that IT and your boss don’t need to know who keeps calling you, and you shouldn’t feel guilty about who is calling you. You use your work phone number regularly in forms and someone sold your information to telemarketers. They are the guilty party. If your company really wants to know EXACTLY what types of telemarketing calls you have been getting, fudge a small. Say that it’s for all sorts of things from bank you don’t know, with offers for loans and credit cards and mortgages and things like that.
Personally, those annoying telemarketing calls are so general anyways that I don’t know why your boss or your company would care what you are being called about. I have student loans – therefore consolidation companies call me all the time. Does that make me a [insert type of person here]? No, it doesn’t.

Elizabeth is right-it’s up to the company; and since a lot of these calls are automatically generated, they don’t discriminate between business numbers and personal numbers
