I sent unsolicited emails to an association’s email list that sends me email? Does that make me spammer?

unsolicited promotion via mail for your own gain is unsolicited promotion via mail for your own gain but you look at it.
they didn’t ‘opt in’ to receiving emails from you about your business so you are/were spamming by sending those communications.
